House League Meeting on September 15 at Hellenic Centre

All House coaches and/or managers are asked to attend the House League Meeting being held at the Hellenic Centre, 4500 Arbutus Street on September 15th, 2010 from 8:15pm - 9:30pm.
Effective July 1, 2010 New HST Policy

Effective July 1, 2010 BC Harmonized Sales Tax will be implemented. The combined Harmonized Sales Tax will be 12% consisting of a 5% federal portion and a 7% provincial portion. The provincial portion will be added to all goods and services to which the GST was applicable.
The fees for minor sports which are currently exempt for childresn 14 years old or younger will remain tax exempt. Any supply of services made by public sector bodies and no-profits as part of an overal program, or athletic activities for children 14 years of age and younger will be exempt. That includes all fees ancillary to an athletic program (such as tournament fees, and etc)
However, the fees for children 15 years and older will be taxable at the rate of 12%.
The final HST legislation is still being worked on adn if there are any updates affecting the Association, those will be duly posted on the website.

WSPD Goal Keeper Summer Camp

The WSPD goalkeeping season opening camp for U8 and up will be led and instructed by Dennis Kindel, a professional goalie coach who runs goalie training for the BCSA Provincial All Star teams, North Shore Soccer Development Centre, and is UBC Men's Varsity Goalkeeper Coach. The goalie academy will provide age appropriate training working on the physical, technical, and tactical side of goalkeeping.
